Fashion designer Roger Gary returns to Summer Sizzle BVI

Guyanese-American fashion designer, Roger Gary, will get his heart’s desire to do what he does best since the pandemic. He will showcase his stunning Aqua Couture swimwear collection, when he returns to the Caribbean’s top fashion event, Summer Sizzle BVI, on July 25.
The fashion maven said Summer Sizzle in the British Virgin Islands, is one of the exciting fashion events that he looks forward to being a part of every year, and added that during the pandemic of 2020 “we all hoped that everything would be back to normal.”
Well, the time has come, and the Global Glamor Runway Show at the multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Tortola, BVI, will display some of the best designers, and where the award-winning couturier is all fired up to bring the audience to its feet with his new and exhilarating collection.
He said due to the fact that he had so much time on his hand in 2020 after the coronavirus sidelined the fashion affair, he is ready with the 2021 collection, that he put all of his energies into.
“I wanted to use bright colors for this season and I wanted it to be more edgy. The cuts are sexier and playful with flowing beach cover-ups,” said Brooklyn-based designer, who is known for elegant evening gowns and cutting-edge swimsuits.
With the stage now set, Gary is poised for what is expected to be a thrilling production, packed with some of the best and brightest collections, ready to harmonize with the sun, surf, and beautiful beaches of the British Virgin Islands.
Gary who was featured in top publications including Woman’s Wear Daily, NY Daily News, Caribbean Life, Essence Magazine, Unchain Magazine, British Pride, and She Caribbean, has said that his fashion philosophy encompasses the totality of being a woman — the clothes and the woman become one.
The master craftsman’s ready-to-wear collection, has graced the runways of New York Fashion Week, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, Caribbean Fashion Week, Style Week Jamaica, Barbados Fashion Week and St. Kitts Fashion Week.
The Black Entertainment Television (BET), Rip The Runway and VH1 fashion show alum, will be joined on the runway by Sergio Hudson, a Bravo TV’s “Styled to Rock” contestant, who worked with celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne and Pharrell Williams. As well as Yumi Katsura, by Paulette Cleghorn, Designer Couture & Bridal Swimwear, Sai Sankoh, Resort Collection, Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons, Sportswear, and Carlton Jones, Fluid Designer Collection, among others.
