Pyer Moss Black American Designer to Show at Couture Week

Kerby Jean-Raymond is just a week away from presenting Pyer Moss’s Haute Couture collection! The designer posted a series of Instagram images that noted the countdown is on for the historic event with the caption, “Pyer Moss — Couture 1 — happening in like a week.” It was recently announced that his fashion label, Pyer Moss, was invited to be a guest member of the official Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and will show its first couture collection this July.

Another amazing feat? This will also make Kerby the first Black American designer to be invited by the Chambre Syndicale to present during Paris Haute Couture! All we have to say is, about time. The announcement of the couture collection also comes shortly after the designer announced that he would be returning to New York Fashion Week in September to present a new ready-to-wear collection after a two-year hiatus.
