The World Uses a Variety of Different Energy Sources

The world is awash with a variety of energy sources. Fossil-based fuels https://leonardogiombini.it/2021/07/13/generated-post-2/ such as oil, natural gas and coal–accounted for over 81 % of the energy consumed in 2018. Renewables such as solar energy, wind power biomass, hydroelectricity, and wind power make up 14 percent. Nuclear energy is responsible for another 5percent. Different countries employ different mixes of energy sources, in order to balance economic needs with environmental concerns.

Energy is found in nature in a number of forms: sunlight winds, waves oceans and more. These primary sources transform into more efficient energy forms, such as electricity or heat, when they are harnessed. These sources of energy become non-renewable sources of energy when they are exhausted.

The environment is harmed by many fossil fuels and also other non-renewable sources of energy. For instance, oil mining, can destroy the forests that are virgin to the earth. Hydraulic fracture (fracking) can cause earthquakes and water pollution. Burning coal releases carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming.

Fortunately, many of the most promising sources of energy are sustainable and renewable. Hydropower, wind and solar for instance, are able to produce electricity without having to dig for new supplies.

Tidal and Wave Power are two more sustainable energy sources that are emerging. However, in order to be utilized on a large scale, these technologies must have efficient distribution networks. These must be built and operate with the use of non-renewable energy sources. In the end, these sources aren’t enough to supply the majority of our energy needs. However, it’s important to be aware that prices for renewable energy equipment have come down significantly over the last few years, and the efficiency is rising rapidly.
